The Houston Collection
The Houston Collection
The Houston Collection, located in Mexico
City, is considered to be the largest single private collection of the
works of Maestro Alfredo Zalce, with well over 400 separate signed
articles. Perhaps it is neither the most important nor the most
valuable
Zalce collection, but certainly is one of the most unique.
The Houston Collection’s art was tediously and discreetly acquired over
many years and through dozens of trips to Morelia. Every piece of art was obtained
directly from Maestro Zalce, and most are accompanied by photographs of
the Maestro with the artwork.
Zalce is known for his extraordinary ability to draw. True art cannot
be generated by one who cannot create impeccable drawings. There
is probably no more extensive a collection of Zalce’s drawings than in this collection.
All Zalce art pictured anywhere in this web site other than public works and those few which are otherwise identified, is part of The Houston Collection,
whether illustrated under this specific heading or not. A good part of "The Houston Collection" is pictured on the following pages.
The web site, "zalce.com," is registered and its contents trademarked.
